John Carney

John Carney is widely acknowledged as one of the top sleight of hand magicians in the world. With smart, unique, and often hilarious presentations, he has performed in casinos in Atlantic City, Lake Tahoe and Las Vegas, and made appearances on The Jerry Seinfeld HBO Special, "Spin City" and "Two and a Half Men." He has served as spokesman for MasterCard, performing magic for their national television commercials.

Hollywood's Magic Castle has awarded Carney more awards than anyone in their history, he is the only performer to win in every category.

He is an accomplished actor, with a number of plays and television appearances. His comic acting was honed through training with Second City, The Actor's Workshop, and the Harvey Lembeck Workshop.

His many instructional books include "The Book of Secrets" and "Carneycopia," which are considered modern classics by his peers. He teaches his approach to the craft in seminars to magicians throughout the world. Carney studied under Dai Vernon, the greatest sleight of hand expert of this century.

Besides his normal charming self, John sometimes performs as his alter ego Mr. Mysto, an eccentric magical savant that makes you howl while he performs the impossible - drawing a picture that comes to life, or baking a cake in a man's shoe!
